Hypnotherapy Training varies wildly.
So, in order to assist you in choosing the most suitable training for you, a good question to consider is:
“WHY do you want to train as a Hypnotherapist?”
Some things that may indicate that Hypnotherapy is NOT for you:
- You are academically minded
- You love to analyse people and things
- You think it’s an easy way to earn a living
- You want to be an ‘authority’ on the subject
- You love collecting loads of information
- You’d rather use 105 words, when 5 would suffice
- You are known for telling others what to do
Some things that may indicate that Hypnotherapy is RIGHT for you:
- You are curious by nature
- You care about others
- You have a real desire to help people
- People naturally come to you with their problems
- You prefer hands-on learning
- You know you can help, but you lack effective tools
- You feel that there is more to life than just paying the bills
- You have a few ‘issues’ yourself
- You tend to be emotionally driven
The differences here are crucial in making your choice. Academic courses in Hypnotherapy abound. Learning loads of theory may make you an ‘authority’ on Hypnosis, but is unlikely to enable you to be an effective Hypnotherapist - Anymore than studying Art theory makes you an effective artist.
Think about it. The Subconscious mind is a simple mechanism. It is the reptilian mind; the emotional mind. How intellectual can it be?
